Help Olive Kick Cancer's Ass

Hi everyone!  This is Olive.  Olive is a life-long Hamilton resident (Five years now!).  She is a diehard Sixers fan (like her Dad) who loves singing and dancing (like her Mom). She is also a karate enthusiast.  She spends most days going to school, honing her sweet board-breaking skills and teaching her two year old brother important life skills, like how to share (or take a punch). 

Unfortunately, Friday, May 10th was not like most days.  This was the day that Olive found out that she had a cancerous growth on her left kidney after being taken to the doctor for some mild pain in her side. 

A few days later, on Thursday May 16th after many consultations and additional tests with the amazing doctors and nurses at CHOP, Olive had her left kidney removed and a chemo port inserted into her chest.  The Doctors at CHOP have diagnosed Olive with a Wilms Tumor on her kidney and are waiting for test results to determine whether or not it is stage II or stage III.  They say that she will need 4-6 months of chemo and radiation to prevent a recurrence.  Thankfully, the doctors are also optimistic that Olive will make a full recovery after this treatment, but it will be a long few months for Olive and her family.

Olive is currently resting at CHOP while recovering from her surgery.  The money from this fund will go to treatment for Olive as well as helping to support Olive’s family in this time of crisis (food, hotel stays, covering the cost of any work absences, child care, etc.).  Olive's Mom (Erica Kleppe) will be listed as the beneficiary for this fundraiser.
