Ruca’s Cancer Treatment

Let me preface this with it being one of the hardest things I’ve had to write. First, I have never been someone to ask for help which has always been a pitfall. Second, I’m writing this knowing that I might be losing my best friend. About 2 weeks ago I had taken Ruca to a vet to be treated for what I thought was a UTI. This was the 4th vet I had been to because no one had been able to help her symptoms. She had been through 3 other vets and 4 different antibiotics. Each vet said there was nothing that could be done and just handed me an antibiotic prescription. The last vet cut to the chase and ordered an ultrasound. What he found was a cancerous tumor in her bladder. It is called TCC, or Transitional Cell Carcinoma. It is a very aggressive form of cancer that without treatment she won’t have long at all. It’s hard to understand the bond you create with a dog if you’ve never had one, but she is the most loyal companion I’ve had. Ruca is resilient and I know there’s hope for her. She’s not in pain and is still just as active, sassy and smiling as she’s always been.
I’ve changed her diet, started her on CBD oil and have also resorted to sound meditation healing. The next step to prolonging her life is to get her on a bi-weekly treatment plan to help shrink and potentially stop the tumor from growing. The treatment will be about $1000 per month for all medications, bloodwork, and procedures. The vet said with treatment she can live a happy and playful life for about 2 more years. Her sister, Pepper, will be 1 year old on July 23rd and I want Ruca in her life for a few more years to teach her how to love like she does. I work full time as a firefighter and also a second job to pay for as much as I can. 
I’m asking for any help, even it is just kind words, dietary recommendations, sharing this page, or help with paying for her treatment as I do not have the capabilities to do it myself right now.  Ruca is in the prime of her life. She’s been there and seen me through my hard points in life, and now it’s time for me to help her through hers as much as I can.
