RRS for Gloria
Donation protected
Hello everyone from RRS-
It's me, Marsha Westbrook, class of 1970 and I live in Ohio. I watched hurricane Florence with dread because I knew it was headed for North Carolina and that's where our friend Gloria lives. I was right to be worried because it moved into her town of Southport and stayed and caused terrible damage. Our dear friend Gloria from RRS was a student at RRS and was my best friend. She and her family were hit hard by hurricane Florence. Due to a serious medical condition she was unable to evacuate and was rescued today after 5 days of no electricity and no running water. Her house was damaged from a tree falling on it and there is no way to tell when they can return because roads in and out of that area were washed away. Now she and her family are in a shelter in North Carolina.
We are asking for all students past and present to send a little help her way through this Go Fund Me page. Anything you can contribute will surely be appreciated because she is the sweetest person you could meet. In the photo, she is the pretty blonde on the right and this was our sophomore year, 1967-68 and yes, we were the first cheerleaders at Ruam Rudi School. I am the one in the picture in the middle front.
There is a bond that cannot be unbroken between all students and classmates of RRS and we still love those years and hold them close in our hearts. If you can, please help us to help her.
