RRES 5th Grade 3day/2night trip

The 5th grade class of Roaring River Elementary school will be going on our annual 3 day, 2 night trip to YMCA Camp Harrison at Herring Ridge.  This trip is beneficial in so many ways.  The students will get hands on, outdoor experiences in science, such as wading through a creek to discover organisms and testing potential energy using a giant swing.  Three of our science standards will be worked on.  We will have outdoor team building activities to learn to work better with our peers. Confidence building will take place on the high-ropes course and zip line.  And we will take a few moments for fun by canoeing and fishing, trail hiking, night hiking, and some songs and smores by the campfire.  As an added bonus, we will find out that we can survive for 3 days WITHOUT technology and social media! This will be a once in a lifetime experience for some of the students.  We have had 3 fundraisers that the students have worked to earn money, but we could use a little more.  We are in a lower income area, and getting the cost as low as possible would behoove many of our parents.  Thank you for your help!
