RPBL Fall Classic

My name is Trevor and I love to play baseball and whiffleball. Two years ago, when I was 12 years old, I was introduced to Michael Rosenband, coach of the high school baseball team at Carver Vocational-Technical School in West Baltimore (Sandtown). He told me that the Carver baseball program was poorly funded. They only had 6 baseballs for the whole season, many of the kids did not have gloves and that the jerseys were in bad shape and had been reused each season. I decided to organize a small whiffleball tournament through my baseball league (Roland Park Baseball Leagues) and to call it the RPBL Fall Classic. The tournament exceeded all expectations and raised over $5300. The next year we held the tournament again and raised almost $8000. I was thrilled to hear from Coach Rosenband how excited the kids were about getting their own equipment - equipment that for the first time was not a hand me down or stuff that others had thrown out. The money also provided a batting cage, funding for an after-school program and equipment for the softball and lacrosse teams. This made me so happy and really made me want to continue to help Carver, but also reach out and try and help more inner city schools. This GoFundMe page will help me to provide additional support to Carver and now also Patterson High School baseball. But, there are many more schools in Baltimore city that need this type of support. The more money we raise, the more schools we can help!
