Rooting for River Peedin

River was born on March 13th, 2014. He has been a normal two and a half year old. Playing, laughing and loving everyone. All was well until his mother took him to a doctor's checkup for a possible ear infection on January 6th, 2017. This day changed the Peedin family forever.

After several tests, River was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This is also known as ALL.

As most families would be, they were in total shock when the doctors gave them the diagnosis. They were admitted to Levine Children's Hospital for the beginning of a long journey for River and his family.

Once diagnosed, River began an immediate course of action for treatment. He has had blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, bone marrow biopsies as well as began a chemotherapy plan. He also received his port that will be used for the next three and a half years. These medical visits, tests, lab and treatments will continue to be a routine for River and his family for the years to come.

River is one of the toughest kids you will meet. He has had to endure more than most toddlers his age in such a short amount time. He has been a trooper
through it all. The power of prayer has been the reason their family is getting through this trial in their lives. So first and foremost, please PRAY for River and his family.

Here are the specific prayer requests from River's parents:

*that God will eradicate the Leukemia from his body
*that the side effects will be minimal
*that they will receive clearly defined results from the DNA and biopsy tests
*that River will stay free from infection
