As most of you may already know, my father was admitted to the hospital on July 30th while we were on our family vacation in Arkansas. We were forced to call EMSA in the middle of the night due to him being disoriented and very ill. It was determined that his body had become septic due to a previous pneumonia diagnosis that had not been treated appropriately. As of today he remains in the intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, AR. and it is still unknown as to when he may be able to come home.

My dad battles from a very rare disease that most doctors are not really familiar with. He has Wegeners Granulomatosis Autoimmune Disease. This disease does not allow his body to heal as quickly as others and causes unbearable pain throughout the entire body. Therefore, he was put into a medical induced coma in order to allow his body to rest so that it could fight off the bacteria in the bloodstream. He was taken off of the ventilator 3 days after arriving at the hospital, but was then was put on the bipap machine in order to help him breathe. He was eventually moved out of ICU on the 4th day but began to decline which forced the doctors to move him back to ICU. We believed my dad was doing so much better, therefore, my siblings and I had already headed back to OKC. However, the call came Sunday morning that he had been moved back and for us to be on standby to go back to Arkansas if his health declined any further. They repeated a chest Xray and compared it to the one that they had taken earlier last week and found a new spot that was not there before. They think it may be a secondary pneumonia or a fungal infection. They have taken extra precaution and started him on a new antibiotic and anti-fungal medication. We are praying of course for my dad to recover quickly and to return home soon. We are unable to transport him to OKC until he is more stable.

My dad was diagnosed with Wegeners in 2014 and since then has not been able to work. My mom is the only one working while trying to take care of my dad daily and paying all of the bills. My dad’s autoimmune disease is very painful for him. He fights this disease daily. We never know how my dad's health is going to be because it's such a roller coaster. One day he can be just fine and then the next day he can be bed ridden. He has done several chemo treatments and has tried several different medications because there is no cure for this disease. However, there is remission and that's what we hope and pray for. My family and I want to thank everyone who has given us all the love, support and prayers during this rough time in our lives. My parents do not know that I am starting this page to help them pay for their medical bills that just keep piling up, so please do not mention anything about this to them. My family would typically never ask for anything from anyone but I believe in my heart that this is the right thing to do for them because of the current situation that they are in. If you are willing and able to help by donating money it would be greatly appreciated! Anything donated would not only help out with the medical bills but also the hotel and food costs that continue to add up during their extended stay in Arkansas. We do not expect anyone to donate, but if you could please at least keep the prayers coming for my dad and our family as he fights this horrible battle that would be greatly appreciated as well!Thank you everyone and Let Jesus Shine!
