We Lift Up Jerome

Donation protected
UPDATE 7/31/17
On behalf of the Somoza/Estrada family, we would like to thank everyone who has prayed, donated and shared this page so far. It is with a sad but hopeful heart to share that Jerome has won the battle. He gets to finally rest and live with God in heaven forever. No more suffering and no more pain from this world. Our sweet Maliyah now has her Ninong Jerome to help watch over her up there.

For the many people who know Jerome personally, you would know that he loved life itself, but he loved the people in his life even more so. As difficult it is to know that he will no longer be here with us, it is a blessing to be reminded of the fun and memorable times that we have shared with Jerome during his lifetime.

The current plan is to use the money that has been raised so far towards the funeral arrangements. We kindly ask for your continued prayers for Jerome, his parents and siblings, along with any additional donations that anyone is able to give. Thank you so much for all of the love and support during this time. Until we meet again Jerome...

(Gwen, one of Jerome's cousins, has been assigned as the beneficiary and will be withdrawing the donations on behalf of the Somoza family.)

****************************************

One of the greatest legacies one person can leave another, family or not, is the virtueous lesson of strength.

Jerome is a first generation American who has recently been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 23. He is a righteous and creative soul determined for survival and and a long life of successful dreams ahead of him. He is the epitome of strength magnified. Jerome will outlive all of us.

What is uncertain is the amount of debt he will have to inherit by the end of this trial. In the current state of our country's lack of commitment to the human right of healthcare, it is indeterminable how many hundreds of thousands of dollars will hang over his head as he returns to the workforce and returns to the pursuit of the rest of his life.

Please join in giving Jerome the peace of mind to maintain his sense of empowerment so he can focus entirely on the future he deserves: a college degree, a rewarding career in business, and a family of his own.

Countless Americans require the basic level of medical attention to assure a recovery from aggressive diseases like cancer. It is possible, yet with the looming threat of the Affordable Care Act in repeal, we must come forward and take action.

Let Jerome know that he doesn't have to carry this weight alone.
