ROCKBridge Ministries Water Project

Clean water quenches our thirst. More importantly, it keeps us safe from disease and life-threatening dehydration; grows plants to nourish us; maintains our livestock; and cleans our bodies and homes. The average American uses about 100 gallons of safe, clean water every day. That comfort is just a dream in many countries worldwide, where safe water is rare.

The United Nations ranks Kenya -- where 4 in 10 residents don’t have access to clean water -- as one the world’s most water-imperiled countries. So many Kenyans don’t have clear rivers, wells or water systems to stay safe in a hot, dry climate.

Help is coming in the rapidly growing city of Nakuru, Kenya.

R.O.C.K. Bridge Ministries, a Christian non-denominational non-profit, is preparing to dig a well to provide clean water to many Nakuru residents. The group has already raised funds for a 10,000-gallon truck to haul safe water and now buys water to distribute it.

A generous donor has already provided land ready to be tapped for a well that will provide more much- needed water to some of Nakuru’s poorest residents. Now R.O.C.K. Bridge needs donations from contributors so it can hire a company to dig into the land to bring up life-saving water.

"This will be an opportunity to provide clean water not only to R.O.C.K. Bridge Ministries’ truck but also to the community in this area of Nakuru, Kenya,” said Zablon Kuria, founder and executive director. “Most of the people are Muslim, and it would be a wonderful opportunity to not only provide clean water but also share the message of the living water of Jesus Christ. All the revenue generated goes back to supporting the Ministries’ running expenses and other parts to supporting students."

R.O.C.K. Bridge has been working in Nakuru on many projects since 2008. Funds generated from the well water will benefit its mission partners: Tumaini Bethany Children’s Home and School, for orphans left behind when families can’t meet their special needs; PCEA Nakuru West Nursing and Technical College, which trains nurses; the Jitegemea school system, which runs two primary schools and a secondary school with 400 students; and three PCEA Nakuru medical clinics, as well as a maternity clinic; and more. A partner with many U.S. churches, of varied denominations, R.O.C.K. Bridge’s mission is to develop sustainable goals, accomplishing its work through programs that give back to the community while providing jobs to Kenyans.

The ministry is seeking help from people worldwide, who want to help others and to seek out God’s purpose in making our world a better place. R.O.C.K. Bridge has already made significant progress in identifying needs and accomplishing this work. Digging the well is the next step.
