After years of waiting and missing riding motorcycles, I am again feeling the longing of a relaxing ride.
I understand many people don't understand the benefits of riding motorcycles, and that's okay, there are plenty of us that totally get the feeling of two wheels and open air riding .
For the last few years my life has been consumed with one thing after another. My wife's cancer, her continuing medical and disability issues, my losing my job, relocating across country, my starting my own business, and just the everyday struggles.
Everyone knows that there are times you have to care for yourself in order to adequately care for others. As a caregiver to my disabled wife, I know all to well the importance of being able to take care of myself from time to time.
I am dreaming of being able to take a few hours away from everything as I roll down the backroads in the open air on my motorcycle.
My business is doing well enough to keep our bills paid, but every penny of extra money gets spent on keeping my work truck running, paying medical bills, etc. I have set aside funds several times, only to have another financial crisis take priority over my bike .
I will have to wait 2 more years to finance anything since I'm self-employed, and its been almost 25 years of patiently waiting already.
At 52 years old, I'm not getting younger and the number of years I have left to ride safely are getting less and less each day now.
I am not dreaming of a $25,000 Harley-Davidson. .. I am dreaming of a couple thousand dollar bike and the money to get it licensed and insured.
Yes, I could start a page and ask for help with our mountain of medical bills, or to finance a dependable work truck, or even to help fund my business, but the reality is that I will take care of those things in time, what I am struggling with is prioritizing something for me and what I desire.
Any help would be appreciated.
