Robotic Turmoil Team #5486

Donation protected
Our FIRST Robotics Team, Robotic Turmoil, is in need of funds for travel expenses to preliminary competitions and parts for our robot. We hope that you will contribute to this excellent learning experience for students of Lake-Linden - Hubbell High School.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

FIRST is more than robots. FIRST participation is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance their 21 st century work-life skills.

Team 5486, Robotic Turmoil, began just two short years ago as a small team of three freshman girls. Even from our beginnings, we have come to achieve greats heights, such as becoming fifth seed alliance captain and receiving the Judges' Award. Today we have grown to a group of 13 students of all ages, all geared up about robotics. Not only do we build robots for fun, but it's also part of our mission as a FIRST team to spread the message of FIRST in our community. In the past summer, we have given back to our community by mentoring a FIRST Lego League camp for students in the area.

Robotic Turmoil just completed its second year, achieving quarterfinals at our final competition in Escanaba. Our group loves learning and applying our knowledge of math, physics, engineering, programming, industrial arts, mechanics, design, & English language skills. Through robotics, we also develop skills for the work environment, such as teamwork, communication skills, problem solving, and leadership. Being a part of this robotics team means we not only have fun building robots, but gain skills that we will carry throughout our lives.

We would gladly accept a donation of any size.
