They're at it again! The 'Lectric Legends FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team #8417 have won both KY and TN State Competitions during this Rover Ruckus season! The home educated high schoolers from central KY have taken their STEM education to a higher level as they are headed to the FIRST World Championship in Detroit this year.
To put it into sports-like statistics: To be invited to the NCAA tournament in March you must do well; in fact, only 18% of all of the Division 1 basketball teams get to participate (64 out of 347). For an FTC team to earn a spot in the Worlds competition, they must be in the top 5% (320 of the 6000) of teams world wide. It is harder for an FTC team to get to Worlds than it is for a NCAA team to make it into the bracket.
Having said that, this hard working world-class team, The 'Lectric Legends, need to come up with the $2000 registration fee in the next week or so. (This fee is for registration only - it does NOT include travel, food, or lodging). If you would like to help them succeed, please consider sponsoring them - it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
