Bien davantage que l’énergie monétaire, c’est aussi votre présence qui fait la différence. À celles et ceux qui n’ont pas encore contribué, sachez qu’il n’est jamais trop tard et que tout montant est grandement apprécié. C’est la somme qui compte. Aux nouveaux donateurs ou à ceux qui ne seraient pas au courant de l’état de santé de Rob, permettez-nous de vous partager son récit.
Robert est un homme gentil, charmant, aimant et familial, avec un sens de l’humour pétillant. Lui et Joëlle se sont rencontrés en 2012. Après avoir vécu un court moment à Montréal, ils décidèrent de traverser le continent pour habiter à San Francisco, proche de la famille de Rob. En octobre 2016, Robert a reçu un diagnostic de lymphome hodgkinien, le cancer du système lymphatique. Le plus grand défi de leur vie s’annonçait.
Comme vous le savez probablement, les résidents des États-Unis n’ont pas accès à un système universel de santé, comme ceux de la plupart des nations occidentales. Rob et Joëlle se voient donc obligés d’assumer une partie importante des couts des traitements médicaux.
Nous avons ouvert cette page de financement participatif dans le but de les aider à payer cette autre portion des frais, afin de les supporter dans leur combat contre cette maladie terrible. Un effort exceptionnel a été fourni jusqu’à présent, alors que la moitié du montant espéré (25 000 CAD) a été recueillie en seulement quelques semaines. Malgré cet effort admirable, il reste encore beaucoup de travail, tant du côté du financement que pour Robert lui-même, dans sa lutte pour la santé.
Il bataille avec courage, et Joëlle avec lui. Mais le fardeau financier est trop lourd pour ce jeune couple, si tôt dans leur vie. Aidez-nous à alléger, faites un don aujourd’hui.

Firstly, a sincere thanks from Rob & Joëlle and the entire family to the people who have already made donations. For those who have not yet done so, it is not too late and any amount is gratefully appreciated.
To first time donors or people who are not aware of Rob’s condition, allow me to briefly share his story with you. Rob is a gentle, charismatic, loving, family oriented man with a vibrant sense of humour. Rob and his wife Joëlle met in 2012. They lived in Montreal for a while. The two eventually decided to relocate to Rob’s native city of San Francisco, California to be with Rob’s family. In October 2016, Rob and Joëlle were handed their biggest challenge yet as a couple when Rob was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. As I’m sure you are all well aware, residents of the United States do not enjoy the same universal health care coverage that so many of us do in most western, developed nations. As a result, Rob and Joëlle have been forced to cover a portion of Rob’s treatment costs.
With the goal of helping Rob and Joëlle in their fight against this terrible disease, we launched this page to raise funds to help cover some of the cost of Rob’s treatment.
An outstanding effort has been made thus far as we have reached the halfway point of our final goal (25 000 CAD) in only a few short weeks. In spite of this admirable effort, there remains a lot of work to do, both from a fundraising standpoint and of course, by Rob himself.
Help us ease the financial burden that has been placed upon Rob and Joëlle at such an early stage of their journey together and make a donation today.
