Robert Rows the Pacific

Donation protected
Many people know that I'm a rower but not many know that I started rowing because I wanted to row an ocean. You could say I've never had a hard time with dreaming big.  Seven years later and I'm on the edge of fulfilling a dream of mine.

I could use your help to make my trip and the stories that come from it a reality.

Donations will go directly to my safety gear and food including:

-GPS personal locator beacon
-Ocean rated life jacket
-Foul weather safety equipment
-235 freeze dried meals
-235 meal replacement bars
-235 servings of carb/ protein/ electrolyte supplements
-A few boxes of cookies (as motivational support) :)

"Are you crazy?"
That's the response most people have when they find out I'm going to spend about 40 days at sea in a tiny rowboat with three other men that I met on the internet.

As part of Team Uniting Nations, I'm participating in the Great Pacific Race, a biennial ocean rowing race covering the 2500+ nautical miles between Monterey, California, and Waikiki, Hawaii. When teams leave on June 2, 2018, it will be only the third running of the race.

Fewer people have completed a row of the Pacific Ocean than have been to space or climbed Mount Everest. It takes a unique combination of mental toughness, physical ability, and sheer strength of will to take on a challenge like this. The preparation and dedication needed to just start the race is staggering.

But preparing for a cross-ocean race is difficult financially as well as physically. While sponsorships may cover some of the costs of the equipment, they don't pay for the required training courses, travel expenses, and personal items that are necessary for the race. Donations will help me be as ready as possible for race day.

I seek out projects, big or small, to learn and share with those around me. I wouldn't be me if I didn't have a curious mind and a eager drive to learn the next skill that's just out of my reach. Preparing to row an ocean, has taught me about sailing, using social media, refined my project management skills, and how a blindingly hot desire is required to see plans through the thousand challenges that are put in the way.

I'd really appreciate it if you would consider donating.

We also have limited sponsorship space remaining on the boat and via our social media outreach.
