Robert's AVM Journey- brain surgery

Donation protected
Robert had struggled with migraine-like headaches.  After suffering for 2 weeks with daily headaches,  Robert suffered from a severe headache that caused double vision. The pediatrician felt concerned about that type of headache and ordered an MRI.  The MRI results showed that he had a 2cm AVM located in the right frontal lobe.  Robert is left handed. So if his right brain is dominate he may not be able to have surgey,  but instead will have to have gamma knife to hopefully destroy the abnormal vessels. A bit about AVM:  An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels connecting arteries and veins, which disrupts normal blood flow and oxygen. When an AVM disrupts this critical process, the surrounding tissues may not get enough oxygen, and the affected arteries and veins can weaken and rupture. This can cause a stroke and brain damage. It's like he has a ticking timebomb in his brain. Thank you so much for reading and for any help. Every dollar donated will help us so much,  whether it's just for getting us to our next appointment or getting a little treat for the kids as we sit through another office visit.  Also as we need to find care for our pets while we are away from home. Thank you! AVM #avm #brainsurgery #avmawareness
