As some of you may or may not know, Chris Walker is a dedicated volunteer and Trainer for the Oshawa Generals Minor Peewee AA hockey team.
On November 10th, during our game in Kingston, Chris was hit in the eye with a puck.
Unfortunately the injury to his eye is severe, and Chris and Danielle are currently still in Kingston receiving care at Hotel Dieu Hospital. While surgery on his eye was supposed to happen the same day of the injury to repair part of his iris that has detached, some complications with increased pressure in his eye have put that on hold. Until the doctors get that under control, are able to fully assess the damage to his eye and put a plan in place, they will be staying in Kingston. This was obviously very unexpected, as are the expenses associated with staying away from home - hotels, meals, supplies, income loss, etc.
Our hearts and prayers are with them, and a lot of people have been in touch with us asking how they can help out. We know that Danielle and Chris would be hesitant about the idea of a Go Fund Me page, however the Walkers are the first to offer help and support whenever it is needed, and we want to be able to do that for them. Any help we can give, will allow them to truly concentrate on Chris's road to recovery, as it may not be an easy one!
