Lady Rivka bat Daniyel (Zoe Taeger) is a good friend and SCAdian in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands. She enjoys going to Pennsic, and we enjoy her help, and seeing her smiling face. However, you may not know that, after each Pennsic, she is home-bound for weeks recovering.
Rivka has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Classical Type) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia/Dysautonomia, chronic illnesses that cause near-constant pain and mobility issues. Events, particularly Pennsic, are very hard on her body, and she's come to realize that if she wants to keep it for a while, she needs to be more realistic about allowing for her illnesses.
Rivka has a wheelchair that will help greatly, but it needs an attachment to be effective on the rough ground at Pennsic and other long outdoor events. This attachment is not covered by insurance, and she doesn't have funds to cover it. It would allow her to do more things outside camp, and reduce her pain and risk of falling or fainting. We've set up this campaign with her full knowledge, and with encouragement from her friends that expressed wishes to contribute. She thanks you for your consideration.
Any funds raised beyond the price of the Freewheel will go toward buying a rack for it (another $130), as well as all terrain wheels. Any above that will go toward her medical bills.
