Emilia Esther Pinel "MAMA" (this is how family and friends call her affectionately) is the mother of Jessica, Nelson, Omar and Lara, and grandmother of Carlos, Jessica, Diego, Nelson, René, and Miguel. Born in Honduras, she is 72 years old and manages her own food business with her husband Nelson, with whom she has been married for 47 years.
In early 2019, our mom began to feel sick, daily tiredness was more frequent, her stomach began to refuse food, she could no longer carry out her activities with the same commitment and enthusiasm that she has always done them. On August 15, 2019, our mom received news that would change her life, her grandson Miguel was born and that same day she received the diagnosed that we feared so much, the doctor confirmed that she had an ASCENDENT ANEURISM, highlighting the urgency of operating within the next 45 days (mid-October). This news has changed the life of the whole family, especially hers, getting out of bed, the inability to carry her new grandson and doing all the things she normally does are prohibited.
Aortic aneurysms are frequently diagnosed in older adults, are the population most vulnerable to this disease. They correspond to a dilation of the walls of the artery, taking as risks: the rupture, dissection or creation of emboli or blockage of the artery, causing death. That aneurysm represents a time bomb that can explode at any moment and take away the most precious thing in our lives, our beautiful mom.
Our mother is facing the situation in the best possible way, but in her eyes, we can see the uncertainty of how to face what´s coming ahead, the money we need for the operation, her life quality after, and most importantly, how to enjoy her life around her family with no fears.
Our mom does not have private health insurance, and we do not have the resources to carry out the operation, which has an approximate cost of $50,000.00. That is why we need your help to raise the sum of $35,000.00, which will help us cover the costs of the operation.

Emilia Esther Pinel “MAMA” (como la llamamos cariñosamente su familia y amigos) es madre de Jessica, Nelson, Omar y Lara, y abuelita de Carlos, Jessica, Diego, Nelson, René y Miguel. Nacida en Honduras, a sus 72 años, se dedica a administrar su propio negocio de comida, con el cual ha ayudado a su esposo Nelson a salir adelante juntos, con quien lleva 47 años de casados.
A principios de 2019, nuestra madre comenzó a sentirse mal, el cansancio se sumaba cada vez más, su estómago comenzó a rechazar la comida, ya no podía realizar sus actividades con el mismo compromiso y entusiasmo que siempre lo ha hecho. El 15 de agosto de 2019, Emy recibió noticias que le cambiarían su vida, nació su nieto Miguel y recibió los diagnósticos que tanto temíamos, el doctor nos confirmaba que tiene un ANEURISMA DE AORTA ASCENDENTE, resaltando la urgencia de operarse en los próximos 45 días (mediados de octubre). Esta noticia ha cambiado la vida de toda la familia, desde levantarse de su cama diariamente, hasta el impedimento de cargar a su nuevo nieto.
Las aneurismas de aorta son frecuentemente diagnosticados en adultos mayores, siendo la población más vulnerable a esta enfermedad. Corresponden a una dilatación de las paredes de la arteria, teniendo como riesgos: la ruptura, disección o creación de émbolos u obstrucción de la arteria, causando la muerte. Ese aneurisma representa una bomba de tiempo que puede estallar a cualquier momento y quitarnos lo más preciado en nuestras vidas, nuestra mamita linda.
Nuestra madre se ha mostrado fuerte ante esa situación, pero en su mirada vemos la incertidumbre de cómo seguir apoyando a su familia teniendo que poner su negocio en pausa.
No contamos con un seguro médico, ni con los recursos para realizar la operación que tiene un costo aproximado de $50,000.00 Por lo que necesitamos de su ayuda para recaudar la suma de $35,000.00, lo que nos ayudara a cubrir con los costos de la operación.
