Olen ainoa ylläpitäjä ja kirjoittaja sivustolla rinnanmitalla.com / rinnanmitalla.wordpress.com. Blogissa kerron omaa tarinaani nuorena rintasyöpäpotilaana.
Vuonna 2014 olin 34-vuotias ja raskaana, kun sain syöpädiagnoosini. Ennuste ei ollut hyvä. Syöpähoidot alkoivat välittömästi synnytyksen käynnistyksellä ja sain "koko hoidon": Täysi mastektomia, 6 syto-tiputusta, 25krt sädehoitoa ja vähintään 5 vuotta antihormonihoitoja.
Miksi joukkorahoitus?
Haluaisin tavoittaa lukijani myös podcastein ja mahdollisesti lukea blogini kirjoitukset äänikirjaksi. Tähän meillä ei ole varaa, sillä tarvitsisin riittävän hyvälaatuisen microfonin, "räkäfiltterin" ja tärinää suodattavan mikrofoniständin. Lisäksi tarvitsen rahaa domainin ylläpitoon ja podcastien / äänitiedostojen hostaamiseen.
Haaveenani on alkaa julkaista kirjoitetun blogin lisäksi podcastia ja tehdä äänikirja, mahdollisesti myös Youtube-videoblogi, riippuen tietysti siitä onko minulla siihen varaa.

I am the sole administrator, owner and writer for the domain rinnanmitalla.com or rinnanmitalla.wordpress.com which is a finnish blog about breastcancer.
In 2014, I was 34 and pregnant with my first child while I received my diagnosis. Prognosis was grimm. My treatments started right after induced labor (which resulted in C-section after almost a week of trying to deliver my baby...) and I got the "whole package" only a week after the C-section: Mastectomy, chemo for 6 rounds, radiation for 25 times and at least 5 years of antihormonal treatments which include tamoxifen and ovarian suppression.
Now is my second, going on third year on antihormones and so far the cancer has not come back!
My goal is to reach finnish-speaking audience and spread awareness and offer support for especially young breastcancer patients, with or without kids.
Why crowdfunding?
Because I have no money and this is something I feel very passionate about. I started my engineering studies after a couple of months of sick leave for treatments & maternity leave. Donning a rather fetching buzzcut I took the entrance exam, got in, and now it's my second year of studies. We, my husband and our child, are struggling.
I hope I can raise enough money to go buy myself a decent microphone, like Blue Yeti, a pop filter and a shock absorbing mic stand. Then I'd need money for hosting the podcasts and for my domain fees.
I also would like to start publishing my own Youtube-vlog, in addition to already planned podcast and maybe even an audiobook.
