Riley Harrison Recovery Fund

Update 5/11/2019 - It is absolutely heart warming to see the outpouring of support for the Harrison family since Riley's devastating injury.  When this gofundme account was launched, we were hoping Riley would be in the hospital for a day or two and then be well on his way to a speedy recovery.  The reality is that he is still in the hospital, with an uncertain release date.  He is improving, but will have months of followup visits and therapy to rebuild his cognitive ability and strength.  We are increasing the goal for this fund based on the lengthy followup  and rehab process we now understand will be a part of Riley's life for the near future.  Thank you again from the Harrison's and the Mountain View Baseball family.  

Riley Harrison is a student at Mountain View High School in Meridian, ID and a member of the varsity baseball team.  During the district championship game on May 8th, 2019, in which Riley was the starting pitcher, he was hit on the left side of his head by a batted ball.  The impact left Riley with a fractured temporal bone, bleeding on his brain and a concussion.  Riley will be hospitalized for the near future to ensure he is stable before he is allowed to return home.  This incident on its own is horrific and we hope for a speedy recovery for Riley, however this is the third medical emergency he has had to face this season.  Prior to the start of the season, Riley had his appendix removed sidelining him for multiple weeks.  On the first day of practice Riley fractured two bones in is right hand, keeping him out of baseball for 6 weeks.  One medical emergency can impose a large financial burden on a family, imagine enduring three medical emergencies in a period of 5 months.  The Harrison's are an incredible family who would never ask for help, but in extenuating circumstances like these, we thought this would be a great way to support and lift them up.  Please contribute if you are able.  No amount is too small.  Thank you.
