Rick's Esophageal Cancer Battle

Rick has been having trouble swallowing food for some time and after being checked into the hospital on Monday February 20, 2017 for a procedure to stretch his Esophagus, it was at that time they discovered a growth. On Thursday, February 23, 2017 Rick saw an Oncologist in Fresno and was given confirmation that he, in fact, has Stage 3 Esophageal Cancer.
Within the next week, they will put in a feeding tube to aide during treatment, bc he will most likely lose the rest of his ability to swallow. They will also be putting in a Picc line, through which he will receive any fluids , chemo, and blood draws. The plan is to start a very harsh regiment of Radiation and Chemo as the doctor said this is an extremely nasty form of cancer.
With that said, Rick's Oncologist is very confident he will recover, but he needs to stay strong and he needs the support of those he loves more than ever.
There will be MANY out of pocket medical expenses during this journey, in addition to the costs of keeping Rick comfortable during this time, a special diet, gas to and from treatments in Fresno, and then finally, Recovery.
Going through this journey is going to be incredibly tough, and the last thing a person should have to stress about is expense. We want him to be able to focus on improving, instead of worrying about where the money for his next treatment is going to come from.
