Memorial Fund for Rick Mota
Donation protected
Ricardo "Rick" Mota was a loving son, partner, father, and grandfather, brother to his sisters and brothers, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his life-partner of 15 years, his 13-year-old son, 3 stepchildren, loving mother, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and 4 grandchildren. He was an Army veteran who had the most generous heart. He loved his family and his pride and joy was his son and grandbabies. On December 11, he was tragically killed after being carjacked in MacArthur Park, Los Angeles.
Rick was an amazing father to his son, Alex. The day of the incident Rick had plans with Alex to decorate the Christmas tree he had bought for them the day before, a yearly tradition for them. Because of unforeseen circumstances, he is unable to fulfill his annual tradition he had with his son Alex. In addition to being an amazing father, Rick showed unwavering support to his partner, Teresa, who has been dealing with severe health issues. Because his life was cut short, his dreams of growing old with Teresa, seeing his son grow up to become a man, graduate from high school, go off to college, get married and have children of his own were taken away.
Due to his sudden passing, Teresa and Alex are not prepared for the costs of funeral services and worry about making rent. Our hope is to raise enough money to ease their financial challenges so that Teresa can focus on healing from her health issues and be able to provide for her son, while she finishes school.
