It is with sadness, but also with great optimism that we set up this fund for one our own, Richie 'Ballgame' Barton, We are just at the beginning of what we know will be a long, but ultimately successful battle against bone cancer. It was less than 6 weeks ago that many of us were witness to Rich's wedding to the beautiful and strong Erika. You can follow his journey from there to where we are now here -----> RICH'S STORY
Any money donated will be given directly to the Barton family to offset the costs of what will be an intensive and extensive fight against this dreaded disease. Any amount we raise will give the family one less thing to worry about.
If you know Richie Ballgame well, like I do, or just in passing over his decade-plus of covering high school sports in North Jersey, you know what he means to the community of friends we have built over the years. Our boy is hurting, but he is up for the fight and we can join him.
