My name is Richard Kresse, I'm 36 years old and so far I have already had to undergo 31 medically necessary surgeries. I have had multiple MVAs that I should have never survived and the second rendered me paralyzed from the neck down with no hope of ever walking again.

I am a living miracle and a testimony to the glory and power of God as so many miracles have been worked in my life that medical science cannot explain.

After breaking down and saying a prayer I asked God if he would please give me back the use of just one arm and I wouldn't ask for anything else back. Within a couple days after that prayer my right hand and arm came out of a constant spasm and I began being able to move my fingers, within a week I was capable of driving a power chair which was my hope by my request to God as I knew I could have some assemblence of a life if I could just drive a power chair.

By the end of a year after breaking my neck on February 27th of 2009 God had not only blessed me with the one arm I asked for but he gave me back the function needed in my legs to have learned how to walk again. Medical science couldn't explain it, only that I was a miracle.

Three years after breaking my neck and two years after learning to walk again I got diagnosed with a rare spinal cord disease I was told by multiple neurosurgeons that there was no cure for or any kind of effective treatment options and that most times when they operate on a patient they make them worse off than they already are so they only operate on this disease if it's absolutely medically necessary and unfortunately both neurosurgeons told me, one being an associate professor of neurosurgery in Dallas Texas and had been doing brain surgery for 30 years, that my case was the worst he had ever seen in his history of doing surgery.

Long story short on the second surgery that was nearly 20 hours long that disease which was medically known to be incurable because it exists inside your spinal cord, it was cured!! Praise Jesus and the glory to God!

The next 7 years I regained my ability to walk quickly, I learned how to drive an unmodified vehicle safely, I worked from home doing computer work and became independent enough to move out on my own.

I have known in my heart since the initial recovery before the spinal cord disease that God is trying to use me and my testimony for the kingdom of God and his glory and about 3 months ago I finally started making changes in my life to put down my interests and begin working on compiling a scripted out testimony of my story and the miracles God has worked in my life and I enrolled in Bible college to build on my knowledge of the word so that I had a foundation in the scripture to where I could truly help people.

It's absolutely incredible how quickly the devil comes out of hiding once you start trying to give your life in its entirety to the Lord because my life began to fall down around me insanely fast but I kept pushing back and continuing to rebuke Satan telling him he's not going to win this fight.

On October 3rd this year I was doing Uber eats deliveries in Tyler Texas trying to make extra money to pay my bills and after realizing I was getting very tired and the deliveries slowing down I decided to call it quits and begin my hour drive home.

On the first segment of 2015 headed back to Hawkins Texas where I live I fell asleep at the wheel and hit the accelerator pedal and crashed into an embankment where that segment of 2015 ends at somewhere between 80-100mph...

I should have never survived the crash... I broke my tibia and fibula on my left leg and broke both heal bones on both legs in multiple pieces requiring two surgeries putting my surgery count from 28 surgeries prior to 30 total now. The only other thing I broke was my sternum from the brute Force of the seatbelt restraining me. My only other injuries were just chronic bruising from the seatbelts.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED!

The towing company told my mother there was no way that anyone could think that the driver of that vehicle could have survived. Glory be to God, he is so great and the miracles he's worked in my life are just unbelievable but it's real just as he is.

I'm currently in a nursing home after being discharged from the hospital late last night and I will be non weight-bearing on both legs for a minimum of 3 months before having to learn how to walk again. I plan to use my time in the nursing home to continue working on my Bible college work and continuing to recover.

I'm creating this GoFundMe account because my vehicle is a total loss and I had just paid $15,000 for it 2 1/2 years ago with funds I inherited from my grandfather which are totally gone and I only had liability insurance on the vehicle. Since my only income is my benefits checks from disability replacing my car with a dependable vehicle is going to be difficult and I have other financial obligations that have occurred due to the accident.

I really want to be able to be back in church regularly once the bones in both my legs heal as well as be able to handle my obligations in my life. I thank everyone for taking the time to read this little piece of my story and what God has done for me with all the miracles hes worked in my life.

At the very least I'm just hopeful that this will help someone find the strength not to give up and keep fighting whatever it is they are going through and keep clinging on to Jesus as that is where every bit of my strength comes from as I do not have that strength on my own.
