Richard Daum's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Sadly, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, Richard was in a horrific and life changing car accident.
When The Fire and Rescue teams arrived they had to use the Jaws of Life to extract him out through the back of the car.
Richard has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Right now we are taking it one day at a time and surrounding him with love, prayers and positive thoughts.
We are raising money to help with Richards recovery. He does have health insurance however it will not cover all of the medical expenses, physical therapy and time off, which he will require in order to even try to begin to resume a normal life.
Please donate as little or as much as you can afford, any amount is greatly appreciated and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to his care.
(Please continue reading with caution, Richard's injuries were severe and are detailed here: Richard broke his neck, fractured his C3-C6 vertebrae, fractured his arm and suffered a large laceration to his head. On August 4th Richard underwent a 12-hour surgery to repair his vertebrae. They were able to recover most function in his upper body but the nerve damage to his lower body is not known at this time. He is currently in the NeuroScience ICU at LA County General - USC Hospital. He is intubated and heavily sedated. He thankfully suffered no brain injury and is able to recognize family and friends.)
