Barron the Dog's Surgery- both legs

Donation protected
Barron The Dog had an accident on 5/26.

He slipped in the mud in the yard and completely tore each of his ACL's in both hind legs. (This is the CCL in dogs). I did not see it happen, but heard the soul-crushing wailing and took him to the Vet. It was determined immediately that he was one of the unluckiest dogs around, and tore BOTH of his CCL's at the same time. If he tries to stand, there is an audible popping sound and visible pain.

Now he is completely immobile. He wants to get up and wants to do dog stuff but we have to keep him stationary. The pain is too great and he can not support any of his own weight on his hind legs.

The only practical option with a decent outcome so he can return to dog-hood would be to get him surgery on both legs to repair the CCL's. This is also only practical if we do it within a short time frame, 3-4 weeks max.

He is only 4 years old right now, so I refuse to believe his long night has come. I will do everything possible short of the surgery myself to get this 100 lbs, loving beast back in action. With surgery, he could over double his current lifespan.

That being said, while we could scrape together a small percentage of it, at a cost of $3000-$4000 per knee and a full surgery on both knees at $6000-$8000, this is just a pipe dream at this point. Over the last three days (as of 5/28/17), various medications, X-Rays, and exams have totalled $1099.94. This is just adding onto the previously noted amount of the surgery, not part of that cost.

No pet is just an animal. This is an easy conclusion for pet owners who I am sure understand completely.

All people have times of darkness and struggle.  Times when it is difficult to see the big picture and look past your immediate shortcomings. In times like these, everything seems a bit darker than normal and you may feel sunken. This is when you see the immeasureable worth of a pet. It may be a furry tail brushing your leg or a wet lick on your unexpecting hand. You look down and there they are, always there, eyes bright, as if saying: "I am here, always here, share the load." Within a few seconds, the appearance of a well-loved pet reminds you that no room is so dark, no barrier too high or puddle too muddy. You kneel down and take their face in your hands and there is only love then. Unconditional, undefinable and the purest form of unfiltered love.

Barron is our company mascot, often showing up in product photos and always at our shop. With a hectic life, Barron is one of the only constants we have. His amber eyes glisten in the best and worst of times.

With help, that deep, amber glisten will not tarnish and will not go dull for years. Without help, I do not have to explain the inevitable outcome.

--- REWARD LEVELS ---

I, along with a couple others, operate Timber Forge Woodworks. We are a very small, young business. We make everything from custom console tables to modern dining tables to table legs, coasters, cutting boards, etc.

To assist in getting Barron the help he needs, we have decided to do this in a benefit-style, where the proceeds of our product will go to Barron's surgery. The beauty of this situation is that you will be practically buying our custom furniture at a lower price, BUT the money will go towards Barron and we will be working pro bono.

Barron has been around since before we formed the business, and has been on our shop floor since the opening date. He carries some of the weight of running a small business, always there when you need him. We think it is only necessary that we use our talents to repay Barron for the unhindered love and support he has given all who walk through our shop doors. He has become a staple of what we do here.
