Medical and Living Expenses

Most family and friends know that my mom Trish was diagnosed with colon cancer. It took all of us by surprise and nobody was expecting it. Long story short how it all happened from my point of view was she had been struggling with a swollen lymph node for about 8 months. Every doctor we went to said its just fighting off an infection that's what lymph nodes do. We only met one doctor who was willing to do the surgery to take it out. A couple weeks passed by and things only got worse, it got to the point where I had to take my mom in to the emergency room because she was in so much pain. We were in the ER for about 30 minutes and that's when things got very real. They took my mom back and did a CT scan and found a tumor behind her swollen lymph node they said it could be a abscess or a cancerous tumor they immediately admitted her into the hospital to have surgery the next day. The next day she went back to surgery, ill never forget because my heart was so scared to know what the results would be hoping for the best but expecting the worse they took her back for surgery. After the surgery I talked to the surgeon who operated, she said she took a biopsy of the tumor and she'd have the results back to following morning. The next day I got to the hospital and I remember my mom getting emotional which broke my heart because I didn't know what to expect. She then told my brother and I that she has cancer. We all know cancer exists but its something that is so serious and changes your life in a matter of literally 3 days. As of May they started my mom on an intense chemo, she has to carry this machine around for a week while still going to radiation every day for a week and then just radiation the next week then it starts all over again with chemo. This chemo and radiation is so intense that my mom is not able to work. Not just because she is physically and emotionally exhausted but also because she is very susceptible to infection and sickness. She now has no income because of this and I know that many people see her struggling already. So I have set up this gofundme page to help my mom with gas to get to radiation everyday and to also help her afford her medication that they prescribe her with the weeks to come. The last thing all of us who love her want is for her to be stressed out about something we can all help with. THANK YOU ALL who took the time to read this and possibly help. Every donation will help.
