Hey there! My name is Maranda and I'm the owner of Reverie Library , a candle company inspired by literature and aesthetics. Over the past eight months, my dream of starting a business came true, and the entire process has been more exciting and thrilling than I could have ever imagined. In the past couple of months, Reverie Library has become my primary source of income - it's stressful, difficult, and it is worth every moment of strife.
Seeing the joy on peoples faces when they open packages and being a part of peoples love of books has been, by far, the most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life. This business is my baby - and I put blood, sweat, tears, and a LOT of love into it every day.
On the morning of November 27, 2017, I left my apartment shortly after my partner left for work to grab a cup of coffee from across the street. During the 10-15 minutes that I was gone, all of my candle supplies were stolen from in front of my apartment. After filing a police report, it became apparent that this likely was not a crime of opportunity. Most likely, this was someone who knew my routines, and that I often get shipments delivered to my apartment.
These thieves will likely open up the boxes and realize that what they stole is worth nothing to them - while it is worth everything to me. What is a thief going to do with 50 pounds of soy wax you ask? I have no idea.
I feel stressed about the lost investment, sad that I won't be able to keep promises to my customers, and unsafe in my own home. Without these supplies, I won't be able to continue my business at the same rate that I have been, if at all until the new year. These stolen supplies will not only affect my sales, by my livelihood and ability to work on this company.
I would greatly appreciate any help that you might be able to contribute to helping Reverie Library recover from this loss. Anything given will be used towards replenishing the supplies that were stolen, and in an attempt to be able to create and sell candles for the holiday season as was originally planned.
