I Just Want to Be with my Dogs Again

After major life events, I decided to move to New Zealand to simply start over. This year, I had lost everything except for my two dogs, Rocky and Rambo. For those that know me, my dogs are my life and my world. In the near 15 years I have had Rocky and Rambo’s 8 years of life, I have never left their side. They helped me as I overcame a brain tumor at the age of 22, they helped me survive graduate school and are noted in my acknowledgements – they simply helped me get through life. They never failed me, but I have failed them leaving them behind selfishly.

Unfortunately, New Zealand is one of the strictest countries in the world when it comes to relocating pets and it is accompanied by outrageously high quotes from international pet moving companies (including vet visits, customs, quarantine, blood tests, flights, government paperwork, I have been quoted over $10,000). I would do anything to be with my two best friends again including spending my last dime, but I still won’t have enough.

I have NEVER asked anyone for help and I am embarrassed and ashamed to do so. I have been the type of person that people can count on when they need help. I love helping others and I love animals. Several can attest to my donations of artwork to be sold for fundraising events to help homeless animals. I am always willing to lend a hand for whoever needs it, including putting in hundreds of volunteer hours within the communities I lived in. I love inspiring people.

I can’t function without them, and like most, I do not know what I am doing with my life. I thought I once knew when I was pursuing a career path in the planetary sciences, but all motivation is gone. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated to help me get reunited with my dogs. I cannot express my gratitude for any help I may receive out of this.

But through all this, I just want to be with my dogs again.
