Returning Gloria to her Pura Vida Jungle Life!

My sweet grandmother Gloria raised me when I was a small girl in Costa Rica. She has spent her whole life living among the banana farms in the jungle near Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica (on the Carribean side). She's a spry old lady, currently age 72, with a unique sense of humor and a lot of jungle wisdom!

She recently had some unfortunate trouble. What started as a small infection from a rock embedded in her toe went untreated for quite some time. She developed infection in a few toes, which spread to her foot. Eventually, her leg had to be amputated just below the knee.

Now it's time to literally "get back on her feet". 

I'm raising money to help her with basic medical needs like a wheelchair, crutches, prosthetic leg and physical therapy so she can learn to move around on her own again. We are also hoping to make a few changes to her "jungle house" so that she can stay in her home.

The good news is that she's in good spirits and very mentally tough! The wound on her leg is healing and she will eventually get a prosthetic leg and be fairly mobile. She's ready for the challenge and I hope you can help her doing this!
