Medical Fund for Retired Search Dog

Donation protected

Tadc (pronounced "Teeg") is a thirteen year old veteran, and recently retired, Wilderness Search and Rescue trained K9. For ten years, Tadc and his handler, Dave Baldridge, deployed as a team to assist in locating lost persons in New Mexico. Dave and Tadc worked as active members of Sandia Search Dogs based in Albuquerque. SSD is a team consisting of volunteers who work together to train their respective K9s to find lost persons in Wilderness settings.

On Monday, June 5 Tadc was struck by a vehicle resulting in a dislocated right hip. Fortunately no other serious injuries were sustained. Tadc's medical bill was a significant unexpected expense for Dave who is currently out of work as a non-profit director.

On Tuesday, June 6 a vet at the Veterinarian Emergency & Specialty Center of New Mexico was able to re-set Tadc's hip. This procedure has about a 50% success rate. So far Dave owes the clinic and his veterinarian $2,000 for medical care related to Tadc's hip injury.

If Tadc's procedure proves unsuccessful he would need to return to the clinic to undergo surgery. This surgery would likely cost Dave another $3,500. In this event, the funding amount will be readjusted to reflect the new medical bill.

Any funds collected will go to Dave Baldridge so that he can pay off Tadc's bill at the clinic (VESC).

Thank you for taking the time to read a little about Dave and Tadc and thank you for any and all contributions towards Tadc's bill.
