Hello World of Gofundme,
we are Gianmarco and Giorgio, two brothers from Naples. Our project was born in October 2016 when we decided to rent an apartment in the heart of the historic center of our city. Now, this might sound normal to you, but the thing is that the palace we rented was no ordinary palace: it used to be the Embassy of the Maritime Republic of Venice, back in the1400s. 


Clearly, 600 years of history - including wars, successions and conquests - have given the Palace a deep cultural meaning and have turned it in a truly historical monument.


When we discovered it, in 2016, it was clear that no one cared about the cultural and historical importance of the Palace. After a century of negligence and an overall lack of maintenance, plants, molds, insects and dirt had taken over the place and spread everywhere. The windows were completely burned down and the air inside was unbreathable and unhealthy. The overall state of the Palace reflected the so-called "Menefreghismo" of the last century, that is a general attitude of indifference towards historical and cultural monuments. 


The size and magnificence of the place, which is almost 500 square meters, inspired us to to roll up our sleeves and discover, day after day, all the beauties it hid.


Almost two years have passed and the place has been completely transformed - and we have done so by putting in all our best efforts and, above all, our financial resources. 


So - let’s get to the point.


The main problem today is that the original, historical floors, which date back to the 1400s and up to the mid 1800s, are completely hidden by a green, industrial carpet, that we are unable to remove. Che Pazzia!


Mosaics, Riggiole, Neapolitan Cotto and hand-painted tiles have been doomed. Specifically, the tiles don’t even have a protective layer of enamel and they need to be restored. Just think of a fresco on the ground covered with layers of glue.


We did our best, but now, our resources are running low and that is why we are asking the world to support the restoration of this beautiful Palace and to help us carry on our project.


What we want is to give the Palace its former glory. Last year we started a cultural and artistic project called "A 'MBASCIATA", which literally means “to bring news” in Neapolitan. We basically offer anyone who comes up with an interesting idea or a new project a space  in one of the busiest streets of Naples, Via Benedetto Croce (also known as “SpaccaNapoli”). 


People from all walks of life - youngsters, tourists, start-uppers etc. - can benefit from the spaces and services we offer, meanwhile helping us to create a new reality in the heart of Naples.


We hope to reach our funding goal by this August, so that we can start the restoration works and the artistic projects in September. 


We will be grateful for every donation that will bring us closer to our dream, and to repay you for your generous gesture we have thought of some prizes:

Ciao Mondo di Gofundme,
siamo due fratelli di Napoli, Gianmarco e Giorgio, il nostro progetto naque nell'Ottobre 2016 quando decidemmo di prendere in locazione un appartamento nel cuore del centro storico della nostra città,  sembra niente di strano, ma dovete sapere che il Palazzo nel 1400 era l'Ambasciata della Repubblica marinara di Venezia;

Ora ben 600 anni di storia, tra guerre, successioni e conquiste, hanno conferito all'insieme un significato culturale che, s'identifica in quello di un perfetto "Monumento Storico".

La scoperta fatta da noi nel 2016 dell'appartamento in questione ha rivelato il "Menefreghismo" storico-culturale del secolo scorso.
Piante, muffe, animali e sporcizia erano padroni di questi ambienti dopo un secolo di abbandono e mancata manutenzione;
Le finestre erano completamente bruciate dal tempo e dei vetri non si è trovata traccia, tutto questo rendeva l'aria irrespirabile e malsana.

La grandezza e magnificenza del posto, quasi 500mq, ha dato la forza per rimboccarci le maniche e scoprire giorno dopo giorno le bellezze che nascondeva.
Sono passati quasi due anni e abbiamo già rivoluzionato l'appartamento impegnando ogni nostro sforzo e soprattutto risorse economiche.

Arriviamo al punto

La nostra parte è stata fatta, con le risorse in esaurimento chiediamo al mondo di supportare il restauro e far continuare il nostro progetto.

La piaga che avvolge tuttora la struttura è una Moquette industriale, verde, attaccata con colla, cemento e fibre sopra i pavimenti storici datati dal 1400 fino a metà dell'800, Che Pazzia !
Mosaici, Riggiole, Cotto Napoletano e Mattonelle dipinte a mano sono state condannate.
Le ultime citate, non possedendo uno strato di smalto,
andrebbero restaurate artisticamente, pensate ad un affresco a terra ricoperto da strati di colla.


Il Progetto ormai di vita è quello di riportare alla luce gli antichi splendori e su di esso far crescere un movimento artistico nato l'anno scorso chiamato "A' MBASCIATA", in napoletano significa portare notizia, in poche parole offriamo uno spazio a chi ha un'idea o un progetto da proporre, in una delle strade più calpestate di Napoli, Via Benedetto Croce, conosciuta anche come "SpaccaNapoli".

Giovani, artisti di tutti gli ambiti, turisti, Start-upper potranno beneficiare degli spazi e dei servizi offerti, creando una nuova realtà nel cuore di Napoli.

Speriamo entro fine Agosto di raggiungere questa somma, per far partire tutte le attività di restauro e di formazione artistica da Settembre, è già tutto pronto serve solo supporto.

Saremo grati a ogni donazione che ci avvicinerà al nostro Sogno, per ricambiare il gesto di generosità abbiamo pensato ad alcuni premi:
