Support Research on Parkinson's
Donation protected
In the last year, I have lost two people very dear to my heart: my godmother and my father. This made me reconsider a lot of things.
Sadly, more and more people in my life are having to deal with life-threatening and disabling diseases. It is so hard for me to watch them having to go through such hardship and not being able to help.
I decided at my godmother's funeral last year that I was going to donate my hair to a wig maker once it was long enough to make a nice wig. It was something I had wanted to do for a long time. My godmother had struggled with aggressive cancer before when I was little and I remember how her wig gave her more confidence to leave the house (and visit me) during and after her chemo. I didn't even notice it was a wig at first! That image has left a profound impact on me ever since. This is why I have decided to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust once it is cut.
Any donations made here will go towards the Deutsche Parkinson Gesellschaft, an institution actively researching the disease and investing into treatments. Though not directly related, both causes are important to me and I would like to make as big of an impact as I can and make my father and godmother proud.
I appreciate your help in raising money and awareness for both causes.

Addition: Seeing as my initial goal of 100 GBP was reached so quickly by overwhelmingly generous support, I have decided to increase the goal to 200 GBP. I am very touched by the positive reactions so far and hope to be able to make a generous donation dedicated to research on Parkinson's. So little is known about the incurable disease and yet it affects so many people. It is debilitating and hard to endure even 'just' as an onlooker. By raising increased funds I hope to be able to make a slightly greater difference and support ongoing advancements in research, treatment, and awareness of the disease.
