Monty's Rescue is a large breed rescue and rehabilitation centre in Staffordshire.
Like most rescue centres Monty's relies on donations of time and money from its supporters. Donations are used to help with vet and food bills. Volunteers give up their time to help with a variety of tasks from exercising the dogs, assisting with socialisation or mucking in with cleaning duties.
RescueMe 24Hour Challenge
Between Friday 17th & Saturday 18th August 2018
I will experience life in a kennel. From the point of entering rescue to when I'm released I'll follow the routines just like the other residents.
Hopefully there will be some volunteers who will let me get some time outside the kennel to stretch my legs. If it's busy, that's tough luck for me as the dogs are the priority!
So where's the challenge?
I'm planning to take bedding, snacks, iPad, books and other essentials for the 24 hours. But are they essential?
Once donations reach £150 for every additional £50 donated I will have one of my items taken away. No iPad, no snacks, no books....
If I reach £500 my target that's the sleeping bag gone and I'll just have my blanket and sawdust to see me through the night!
My fate is in your hands (or donating fingers..)
