Rescued Dogs Need Veterinary Care

Donation protected
We are seeking funding for three dogs in need of veterinary care. We are trying to raise $1700 to cover costs of veterinary services, such as basic check ups, spaying, flea medicine, and tick removal. We would also use the funds to cover supply costs (ie. food, leashes, collars, clippers (for their previous collars)), and transportation costs (gas). If you think you can help out, please donate now! We would like to get them in as soon as possible.
. . . . . . .
Yesterday, the Animal Liberation Conference took to Stockton, CA, to bear witness to the slaughter of hundreds of chickens, and to raise awareness of their plight. We found that, in the city of Stockton, it's not just the culturally identified "food animals" that were in need of help. It seemed that around every corner you could find dogs in horrible conditions, stragglers without a home or guardian, locked outside in a cage, locked within a fence with little shelter, little to no food or clean water, and little to no attention or affection. The Portland crew, the mischievous folk that we are, were able to get the permission of the 'owner' to take three dogs that were being used for security purposes, and re-home them. The dogs lived in a fenced-off dirt yard, with a make-shift wooden shelter. One female, Liberty, has quite the outgoing personality, and was open to love and touch. The other two, who we suspect to be siblings, were more difficult to ascertain. They are BoBo and Bodie. When we were finally able to get a leash on them, we found that they were paralyzed in fear, particularly the male, Bodie. We can't imagine the past trauma and mistreatment that would make them so terrified of humans. Bodie's chain link collar was so tight, it was damn near choking him at all times. All of the dogs are infested with fleas and ticks. We've never seen so many ticks, especially on one individual person at a time.

We are currently seeking out a home for these dogs. The best case scenario would be for all three to stay together, in a home with plenty of space, and guardians who have the time and love to properly care for them. Second best, would be for BoBo and Bodie, the siblings, to stay together. Worst case, the dogs are taken to a no-kill shelter in Novato, CA at the end of the week. Our hope is that this message will reach someone(s) in the Bay area who is willing and able to give a good home to these dogs. We're also looking for people who are able to foster the dogs for the time-being, as we make the search. Anything helps, and if you can't donate, foster, or adopt, please share! These dogs deserve so, so much better. Thank you.
