Rescue Chimbote, Peru from Flooding

As Christians, we are called to help those who are in need, and at this time, our brothers and sisters in Chimbote, Peru have experienced devastating flooding from torrential rains. Our Mission is to raise funds in order to purchase and distribute mattresses and blankets for those who have lost all and have none.

There is a growing group of North Carolina Charlotteans from Providence Presbyterian Church and Waypoint Church who have visited Chimbote on mission trips for the past eight years and are working hard to raise money to help our friends in this community deal with the devastation that occurred there last month.

We seek to purchase and distribute mattresses and blankets for those who have none. Houses there are made from sheets of reeds and have dirt floors. The flooding has caused all the streets and floors to be nothing but mud and the people have no place to sleep.

Relief efforts will be done in coordination with the Matthews, NC chapter of the Rotary Club. Funds raised will be distributed to the Rotary Club Chapter in Chimbote, Peru through the International Rotary Club. A mattress and a blanket can be purchased there at
the cost of only $15 per unit and distributed by the Chimbote Rotary Club to every person in this village who needs one.

Funds are needed ASAP so we can get relief to these wonderful people. Please help as much as you can. They don't ask for much and are grateful for everything that is done for them.
