Rescue Joon the Jindo

This is Joon the Jindo.

Joon is about 1 year old, and lives in a dog pound in South Korea. He has been there since July 2017. 

The conditions at the pound are extremely difficult, and Joon's sweet, quiet nature does not fit with the loud, harsh environment of the pound.

The pound does not have enough resources or funds to give Joon toys, a space to walk, or even the medical attention he needs.

Joon has been diagnosed as heart worm positive, and desperately needs donations to pay for heart worm treatment. 

Although the pound receives a greatly discounted rate for medical care, it will still cost over £400 ($600) and between 3-4 months for Joon to recover. Without treatment, Joon may die from heart worms.

In addition, we are trying to send Joon to a new, safe home abroad. 

Abandoned and rescued dogs in Korea have an extremely hard time finding new homes. 

Most Koreans are not interested in larger dogs (although Joon is just 15KG), and dogs in Korea still face discrimination, as they are often not considered as pets (as the dog meat industry in Korea is still butchering over 2 million dogs per year).

As a result, we believe that Joon will have a much better, happier life in another country which really cares for dogs.  

To send Joon abroad, first we need to pay for his heartworm treatment.

Then, he will need to receive a range of tests and vaccinations, to check for Parvo, Distemper, Rabies, Kennel Cough, and more. 

Next, he will also need a special flight crate and quarantine documents.

Although he will be flying with a volunteer, it will cost over £150 ($200) to add Joon to a flight ticket. 

Joon has been waiting in the pound since July 2017. He is a lovely, shy dog who would be a great addition to a kind family.
