Repair Work for Historic Museum
Dear Friends & Supporters:
I have been in the movement for social change nearly all of my life. As a veteran of SNCC, I felt compelled to return to Selma to continue to struggle for human and civil rights. For the past 5 years, I have served as the volunteer public relations chair and fund raiser for the ancient Africa Enslavement Civil War Museum. It is an extraordinary museum but we operate without government or foundation funding. Unfortunately, the museum's roof was severely damaged by a series of recent storms. Our bathrooms were destroyed. The cost of repairs and remodeling exceeds $200,000. We need your help. Any donation would be appreciated. A plaque with the names of the donors will be placed in the Museum of those who donate $1000 or more. All donations are tax deductible. Make checks payable to the AAECWM
The Museum is a once of a kind! It addresses the causes of the systemic violence in our communities. However, it begins where our history begins, in Ancient Africa. Without your help, the Museum cannot survive. Please help!
