Reno Jazz Festival

RENO JAZZ FESTIVAL:  Be a part of a legacy that inspires young jazz musicians to become the next generation of jazz greats!

The Reno Jazz Festival, one of the largest and most prestigious jazz festivals of its kind in the world today, is being faced with the challenge of sharply rising prices that interferes with our mission to maintain high standards and to keep the Festival affordable for every school.

 The Reno Jazz Festival presents high-caliber clinics and concerts for participants, placing a strong emphasis on education that gives young musicians the opportunity to soak up the expertise of 50 nationally and internationally acclaimed guest artists, who provide exceptional jazz training and essential feedback on competition performances.

What’s more … the Festival brings together young and old in an exchange of musical ideas that push participants to think, grow and reach new heights. It can determine and shape career paths; develop meaningful life-long friendships; and provide a forum for people of every nation and lifestyle to understand one another in ways rarely accomplished through other means.  The influential impact this 55-year-old Festival has on its participants and surrounding communities is undeniable and proven. 


To insure the longevity of the Festival legacy for another half century and beyond, we need your help in one of two ways:

1.       Funding to cover the remaining 2017 guest artist fees in the amount of $10,000.

2.       Funding toward the establishment of a permanent $1,000,000 endowment that generates an annual revenue source for the exclusive use of the Festival.  The endowment will be named in honor of the founder and his wife, John and Helen Carrico.

Either objective can be reached by one donor or by many, in days, weeks or years.  However long it takes, setting it in motion is critical for the long-term success of this beloved Festival.
