Motor racing and males - they seem to go together pretty well. Guys get a kick out of racing cars around tracks and other guys like to watch and support them.
But potentially these (usually manly) activities can be interrupted by men that get diagnosed with the 'Big C' - namely Prostate Cancer. It is the third most common cancer diagnosed in Australia and kills more people than breast cancer.
In the motorsport world where the majority of racers and teams are past their youth this can be even more common with 1 in 5 men diagnosed with prostate cancer by the age of 85. If your old man has it then that rate is even higher. A blood test can go a long way into testing for it, sometimes without the need for physical examination.
To help man and motorsport to continue to co-exist cancer free, we need to spread the word and raise money for prostate cancer awareness and research. What better way to do this than using motorsport!
This year Team Rennwagen (Racecar) is back to again try and last 24 hours racing around Collie Motorplex.
Our car and dress up theme is now a take on Hot Wheels popular toy cars. Shay, Matt, Kyle, Luke, Alex and Justin will be decorating the Opel Vectra, dressing up and making sure it's mechanically awesome to last the distance!
We need your donations big and small to help our casue with the majority of funds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. So please help man's motorsport future by funding motorsport in the present!
