A wickedly-smart, talented, determined, tender-hearted man with a wry sense of humor who I was proud to call my brother for 46 years, has left this earth far too soon. On the morning of February 23, 2019, after a valiant fight, Jeff passed away.
Many of you have asked about a memorial service, and/or what you could do to help. As you well know, Jeff was a private person who preferred to avoid pomp and circumstance and ‘fly under the radar.’ With this in mind, on behalf of our little family, we thought the best way to honor and remember Jeff, and support his wife, Cher, would be through this site.
There were few exceptions to Jeff’s feelings about loving animals more than people. One of those people is Cher. Their relationship was one of mutual respect, and true love. They were the epitome of “Until death do us part.” Albeit a significant financial strain because Jeff was unable to work, Cher literally put her life on hold to be his caregiver… that is until she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and needed surgery. My Mom – the most amazing woman I know, flew to Idaho in January to help them through this difficult time. Thankfully, Cher’s tumor was successfully removed, but she now requires regular scans to detect potential recurrence.
Through the many years of pain and suffering, which included aggressive chemotherapy, intensive radiation, surgeries, several hospitalizations and copious doctor visits, Jeff fought hard to find moments of joy. Whether he was on a snowboard shredding through fresh powder, on his favorite river catching fish, or traveling in his Jeep to a remote location to capture the perfect photo, Jeff was determined to live life to the fullest despite his dismal diagnosis of late stage 3 head and neck cancer.
We thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts for all your love and support. Each and every gesture, whether financial, written or spoken has an impact and means so much.
