Relief Efforts for Portsmouth

The massive Category 5 Hurricane Maria brought serious devastation in Dominica and one of the most important parts of surviving after Hurricane Maria is the ability to stay connected to family and friends overseas who can actually help and that is via electricity. This, however, is a great problem here in Dominica since 95% of our electrical poles fell over causing a massive electrical outage all acros the country.  Due to this cause, we would like to provide an alternative source and believe that solar gadgets are one of the ways to ease the tension of limited to no electricity on island. 
We believe utilizing solar gadgets like solar chargers, solar lights and other solar gadgets can help ease and provide some relief in keeping devices charged and ready to use. 

We spoke to the electrical company in Portsmouth and one of the things they stated is that this will be a lot of work! I Asked for an estimation as to when electrivity would be back and was told around Easter of 2018 which is in April! Yes... a very very long time for now. This is why we believe that solar devices can help and thus provide some relief.  We would appreciate any type of donation and believe that it will go a long way in helping to bring comfort. My solar chargers have helped me a great lot and I believe it can do the same for many here in Dominica.
