I'm GIBBS and I need to go to REHAB

Steuerlich absetzbar

"I'm GIBBS and I need YOUR HELP! I need to go to a *DOGGY REHAB SCHOOL aka BOARD AND TRAIN* so I don’t become a *LIFER* at the shelter!  Please DONATE and SHARE my campaign!"

"Please help me become a social dog and overcome my insecurities so I can find my forever home!  They say that if I get to enroll in a three- week live-in behavior modification program, I will have a much better chance of finding a forever home, instead of becoming a 'lifer' at the no-kill rescue I am currently at.  But I need funding!  I need to raise $3950 by 8/31/18 for my training.  Pleeez help me!  Please read my story below and share!  ~Love Gibbs"  ♥ https://www.gofundme.com/rehabforgibbs

Gibbs's Story:

We are Pet Adoption Fund, and we rescued Gibbs only a couple of months ago from a very high kill public shelter here in Southern California.  His dire plea "pulled for euthanasia - please save Gibbs" posting was circulating on Facebook, and it caught the attention of one of our volunteers.  She immediately made an inquiry call to the shelter, and sadly it was confirmed that Gibbs was indeed scheduled to be euthanized by the end of the day if not pulled by a rescue.   Gibbs was on a stray hold and had been in impound for 30 days, and unfortunately, those 30 days of confinement had taken a toll on him, and he had become extremely kennel stressed.  Too stressed for even other rescue groups to consider pulling him.  Death was his fate by 6:00 pm.

We immediately sprung into action and made the long drive to the shelter to meet Gibbs in person.  Much to our surprise, Gibbs appeared relaxed and overjoyed to meet us.  He was so loving and welcoming and was very happy to leave his kennel and come outside on the grass and roll for a belly rub and some treats.  The video below was of our first interaction with Gibbs, and it was love ♥ at first sight!
Gibbs had the most striking features, the cutest itty-bitty eyes, a giant egg head his breed is so known for, a distinct heart-shaped nose, and the biggest smile that melts your heart.  Only a year old, Gibbs deserved to be given another chance, and we were his last hope.  He showed much potential, and we could not turn our backs on him.

So in the two months that he's been with us at our no-kill facility in Los Angeles, we have come to witness the beautiful creature that he is, his sweet and goofy characteristics, and his intelligence and eagerness to please.  He enjoys a belly rub, a splash in the kiddy pool, and lots of play time with his favorite volunteers.  He is also a kisser, a tail wagger, a bottom wiggler, who would do anything for a treat.  We love ♥ our Gibbs very much, and he is like a little clown who puts a smile on our faces every day.

But we have also come to realize that along with all of his positive traits, and underneath that tough exterior, lies a very insecure soul, who is scared and confused, and is afraid to take a step outside of his comfort zone.  He is easily overwhelmed by new people and new situations, making it very challenging for us to show him to potential adopters.  It is not unusual for the Bull Terrier breed to develop such social anxieties that can stem from lack of training and guidance as a puppy and lack of socialization with people and other animals in general, at an early age.

Our Plan and Goal for Gibbs:

Therefore due to his current behavior and reactivity that he exhibits, Gibbs is in need of a rehabilitation and behavior modification program before he is ready to make his transition to a new home.  He is only a year old, and the best course of action for him at this point would be to place him in a "Board and Train" type of a program.

Our goal for Gibbs is to get him enrolled in a training program, where he can build confidence, overcome his insecurities, learn to trust, and just become a well-mannered and well-balanced companion all around.  We already have a wonderful and a highly experienced training and rehab center who is willing to take him in, and we are very excited and optimistic about the outcome.

Gibbs will be in the live-in and behavior modification program for 3 weeks at a cost of $3950.  The course will address all of his social issues and phobias, and expose him to new social settings in a controlled manner.  He will also work on correcting his reactivity and poor leash manners, and most of all, he will learn how to cope with new situations and not be so overwhelmed when faced with new encounters. The facility we have chosen for him comes highly recommended and has produced wonderful results over the years.  All we need now is financial support.  We need all of you animal loving and Gibbs fans and followers to come together and make this happen for him. This is an expensive endeavor but will be much rewarding and very instrumental in changing Gibbs's life for the better.  He is a young and gorgeous boy and we would hate to see him live out the rest of his life at our kennel.  He is counting on you to change that!

"PLEASE HELP ME!   I need to raise $3950 by 8/31/18 for my *live-in* rehab program.  I need it badly so I don't end up living at the kennel for years to come!  Please help me by supporting my GoFundMe campaign! ~Love Gibbs" ♥

We have no doubt that with the right guidance, Gibbs would blossom and make a wonderful pet for the right family and have a happy Hallmark ending.  All he needs is this boost!  We need to raise $3950 by 8/31/18 to make this happen!

Please contribute whatever you can and please share our campaign for Gibbs's cause.  Gibbs has touched our hearts and we hope he will touch your heart too. ♥

Please donate to his cause, so he does not end up calling our kennel home for the rest of his life.  All of your donations are tax deductible and life altering!  Donate right here on GoFundMe or check for other options below.  Thank you!

Future Plans:

Once we get Gibbs on his path to success, our plan is to continue on the same path and focus on helping many of our other challenging rescues currently residing at our facility.  Most rescued dogs come to us with painful pasts that contribute to social and behavioral issues, making them more challenging to place in forever homes. The reality is, even though their lives were saved and we keep them safe at our no-kill facility, the time is still of the essence.  The longer they stay at our kennel, the harder it becomes to find them suitable homes.  Therefore they become “LIFERS.”

So our future plan is to implement a new campaign to prevent our lovely but overly exuberant dogs from becoming lifers with us.  If we raise more funds, we will add more deserving dogs to this training program...and we have many awaiting!  Please find it in your heart to donate towards this life-altering cause.  We are a non-profit and your donations are tax deductible.
