GENEROUS HEARTS, HELPING A COMPASSIONATE NURSE
Leslie has been a nurse for 36 years, dedicating her life to helping others who needed her healing hands. In April, as we were preparing to sell her house, she was diagnosed with Perianal squamous cell carcinoma. She has been seeking treatment for the last five weeks. While receiving radiation five days a week, she has continued to balance working, trying to get her home ready to be sold, and doing her best to maintain her own needs. She has reached a point where the pain from radiation is far too much to bare. Can you imagine having a sunburn in such a sensitive area?
We have been so fortunate, for friends and family continuously helping us get through this process. Due to the fact that she lost her husband a few years ago, I feel that she needs some extra help, and she would never ask for herself.
I would like to raise enough money for her to be able to pay the bills she is behind on, and hopefully take at least a week off from helping others; to rest for herself.
That is why I am starting this go fund me page. We love her and all the help she provided to us and to her community being a long term caregiver. I would like to see this be a bit easier on her. ANYTHING you can help with would be greatly appreciated.
She will fight this with grace. I just want to see the weight of her world lifted a bit and to see her rest. She will not do that if she knows the bills are stacking.
