Rees Atelier

The Academy at Rees Atelier (formerly operating at the Scottsdale Artists' School), has brought formal academic drawing and painting training to the southwest.  As we move forward and establish our new location, we hope to enhance the education of students by increasing the students' studio time, offering better equipment, more space, more time working from models, and lowering tuition.  Students of all ages will now have access to the highest quality art education at an affordable cost.  

The funds we hope to raise will go directly into studio supplies and furniture, including easels, tables, chairs, lights, stands, and casts, and building the model stand and portable walls. The opening of the new facility is July 11th, so we hope to furnish the space by a week or so before.

Any support in this venture would make us tremendously grateful.  While the number of private ateliers and academies has grown over the last few decades, Arizona has had difficulty satisfying the growing desires of its residents for realistic training rooted in classical tradition. As a representational artist, I want nothing more than to fill the world with technically proficient artists who can use their paintings and drawings to describe their world, beauty, and the human condition.
