Recovery Fundraiser For Lisa Finch

Hello, my name is Heidi and I am the best friend to Lisa's daughter Cara. I will be helping Cara relay information to friends and family in regards to Lisa's health.
Lisa traveled to Lake Tahoe to celebrate Easter weekend with her daughter Cara and grandson. On the morning of Easter Lisa woke up with severe flu like symptoms and was unable to get out of bed. As her symptoms progressed Cara made the decision to call the paramedics.
Lisa was then taken to Barton Memorial Hospital via ambulance. Once there, her symptoms continued to worsen. They then realized she had a kidney stone the size of a ping pong ball which was causing her body to go into septic shock. The Dr.'s tried everything they could within their means and decided Lisa needed to be Life Flighted to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. At that time she was admitted into the ICU for Pyelonephritis Bacteremia and Septic Shock. She was intubated for 7 days due to Metabolic Acidosis. After a week long fight for her life, Lisa FINALLY woke up and was extubated on Sunday April 28th!
Lisa is improving everyday and has gotten her wit back that we all know and love. She still has a long road ahead of her. Within the next few days she will be transferred from Carson Tahoe Memorial to Walnut Creek Kaiser via air ambulance. There she will continue to work on getting her strength back. Once she is strong enough to handle the surgery they will go in and remove the stone. After surgery Lisa will be in Walnut Creek Kaiser for 2-3 weeks. From there she will be transferred to a 30 day Rehabilitation Center for strengthening rehab. Lisa will be on long term antibiotics until all signs of infection is gone.
At this time we would like Lisa to rest and focus on healing without worrying about the financial stresses of everyday life. I am enlisting your help to raise funds for Lisa and Cara through this very unexpected event and overwhelmingly stressful time. Any financial contributions will be used for medical expenses that are not covered by insurance, Lost wages, Lisa's rent for the time she is unable to work as well as any other expenses incurred during this time.
In a time where family remains at the forefront, let's help remove the financial burden so Lisa can heal peacefully and help make it possible for Cara to be next to her mother as often as needed.
