Family's Life Shattered By Unexpected Tragedy

Donation protected
Aloha,

This is very difficult for me.   In march 2019,  my husband Lt. Commander Navy Special Operations Chet Woolley, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51.   He left behind two young boys, ages 8 & 11.

Chet was a wonderful husband and supported his ohana in so many ways. He took care of all the finances, bills, the drudgery of paperwork, taxes, laundry, dishes, handyman fixes, driving the boys to school, martial arts, paddling practice, competitions, etc (150++ miles a day) and many more.

He made the boys breakfast every morning, took care of the garbage, recycling and organized everything so well.  We could always find anything we needed. He was always waiting for us, wholeheartedly loving and supporting us while he was hurting mentally and physically trying to keep up. He was a hero in our hearts, and we will always remember him.

In addition to being a stand up father and wonderful husband, we ran a Hawaiian healing center together.

Tragicllay and suddenly; I find myself left with both his responsibilities and mine.
I am greiving and supporting the boys the best I know  how.

I am also left without his military retirement income, and overnight, I have become the sole supporter of my household, finacnially upside down with daily mounting financial responsiblity.

I do not want to quit my 20 year career as an liscensed massage therapist and lomi lomi practioner and owner of a healing center. Chet and I were a team with a shared a vision of Hawaiian healing.  I feel a kuleana to continue our dream. That being said, at this time, this business alone will not support our ohana.

At times, I am overwhelmed with the responsibilities, especially with many freinds but no direct family on the islands. I am greiving the loss of my husband, while trying to be a rock to my family.

Spiritually, I am surviving.

The largest stresses in my life is the financial nightmare I woke up to, and needing support to my & Chet's boys.

I am working to learn everything Chet did for us. Finances, Bills, and Paperwork are not my strong side. I need some time to learn this aspect of our household along with financial support so that I may better take care of both son’s (eight and ten years old) and learn to adapt to our new life without their daddy and my husband, Chet.

Financial support will absolutely be appreciated, but we are also grateful for any physical and emotional support for our ohana .

Carpooling, meal trains/gifts of food, childcare, time,  gift cards for groceries/gas, and any general support you feel called to give is needed at this difficult time for our ohana.  We appreciate the outpouring of love and support our community has shown to us.

Mahalo nui loa a me ka ha'aha'a
I humbly thank you very much
