Renee & Steve's Carr Fire Fund
Donation protected
My mom, Renee, and stepfather, Steven, lost their home in the Carr Fire that devastated their community of Igo, CA in the early morning hours of July 28, 2018. They were renters and did not have insurance. They lost everything. This fund is routed directly to their bank account, verified by gofundme, and they will use this money to begin rebuilding their lives.
Mom and Steven had just moved back to California last Thanksgiving to be closer to family after spending the past 5 years in Oregon. Prior to that, they had been residents of Igo for over 20 years, and of the Redding area most of their lives. They loved their small community and were very active with their church and had deep and lasting friendships with so many. It is their sincerest wish that they will be able to find another place to live in Igo so they can remain connected with their community and family in the area.
Mom and Steven are proud people; it's hard for all of us to have to do this. Our first concern is to get them a new place. Once they have a roof over their heads, the will have to begin the long process of replacing their belongings. They lost all of their furniture, appliances, bedding, clothing, shoes, personal items, vehicles, and all of Steven's tools and mom's art supplies.
Our prayers are that they can find another forever home soon so that they can rebuild their lives with their furry family - we are so thankful that they and their pets are safe. We don't understand what God's plan is for them in all of this yet we continue to trust in Him.
The video you see below was taken sometime Sunday 7/29 and is just heartbreaking; the photos were from our visit during Thanksgiving last year. Wonderful memories we will cherish forever. We will be looking for more photos to share as we can so you can get a peek into their lives.
Thank you!
