Rebuild a Shattered Life

Hello, my name is Jesse,

I recently lost my beloved, Larissa Van Ry, after a long battle with cancer. She was my rock, my heart and my soul and I dearly miss her. For over three years I stood by her side through hospital visits, chemotherapy, radiation, emergency room visits and ambulance rides. I held her when she cried and comforted her when she was afraid. I was her rock and she was mine. She was the mother of a beautiful little girl named Violet and she fought so hard to stay here and raise her child. We are all sad and heartbroken to see her go and I am devastated.


I'm a full time student and used to work. When she got really sick it came time to choose between getting a job to support us or being by her side, I chose to be by her side. We lived off of my student loans and her SSI money, as well as from the donations, ongoing support and care from amazing people who I am still so grateful for. Truly, we couldn't have gotten through these very difficult times without your support! Now that she has passed I am still a student, I have no job, no SSI money coming in and I am deeply grieving the loss of my soulmate.


When Larissa was in hospice so many wonderful, deeply caring people came forward. They brought us food, love, words of encouragement and a lot of hope. They took care of us as we stayed vigilantly by her side. Over the course of a week I slept maybe 6 hours and hardly ate anything. I was exhausted, but I didn't care, I wanted to be there with her, and everything else came second.

Through this grief I'm now facing I can't fathom getting a job right now. I am currently facing losing our apartment and our car which would further isolate me in this very vulnerable time, losing my utilities, losing my phone, my internet. I also need to pay for a cremation, pay bills, put together a celebration of life, and take care of myself the best I can so I can make it through this difficult time. My head spins looking at it all.


As you can imagine, with all we were facing I have no money saved up and I cannot do this on my own and there's no way around it, I humbly need and am asking for support.

If there is anything that you can do to help, to share this GoFundMe with others, to donate any amount you have, set up recurring monthly PayPal payments, anything you are inspired to do helps so much. I need to pay my car off, I need to switch the title into my name, I need to find a new place to live. It all helps and all adds up and I will be forever grateful and hope that we all receive this amazing support during these difficult times. I need a community to help me through.
