REBIKE Ireland Greenway Cafe

Donation protected
Since 2014, Rebike, with your support and generosity, has rehomed hundreds of bikes throughout Ireland to those who didn't have access to a bike, or could not afford one...we have provided basic transport, independence, improved people's health and wellbeing, and improved their quality of life. This could not have been achieved without your support!

After almost three years, it is time to take Rebike to the next level, where it becomes a self-sufficient social enterprise with the ability to help even more people, improving their health and wellbeing, on a sustainable basis. You can help us make this happen.
So how do we do this?
Rather than asking for donations to fund bike parts, etc., which would eventully be exhausted, Rebike is asking for your donation support to set-up a small not-for-profit social enterprise business where the ongoing funds raised by the business will go to supporting Rebike continuously, while at the same time, providing employment in YOUR community.

So, you may ask, what kind of business would suit? With the recent opening of the much-anticipated Waterford Greenway,  we have secured a premises in Abbeyside, Dungarvan, adjacent to the Greenway; the plan is to open a small cafe and bike-hire business which will provide funding for Rebike on a continuous basis, for the foreseeable future. The research has been done; for the last year, we have consulted with local authorities, business mentors, members of the bicycle business and hospitality trade in the locality; their responses have been unanimous...this is a sustainable, year-round, strong business proposal and is a highly commercially viable business, focussed on serving both users of the Greenway and members of the locality, which at the same time will provide ongoing funding to ensure that Rebike can continue to help people.
Setting up a business takes time...and funding: legal fees, registration fees and administrative fees with local authorities etc, purchasing stock, insurance policies etc; the costs very quickly add up. A viable business can support these costs once it is up-and-running but there is an initial outlay to get the business to that stage; this is where Rebike is once again, asking for your support and generosity,  as you have done on numerous occasions.

In the past we have asked you to look in your shed for an old, unwanted bike that we can rehome; this time, we are asking for your financial support to make this long-term plan to help others a reality.

If half of our followers and supporters on social media donated €10 each, we would far exceed our target amount and have this business open and supporting local employment, and funding Rebike on a sustainable basis, in a matter of weeks.

So what are you waiting for? Make a donation and help Rebike continue to make a difference!
